From 11 to 16 July 2010, a group of Melbourne delegates attended the
30th IAJGS International Conference on Jewish Genealogy,
held at the new JW Marriot Hotel in Los Angeles.

More than 1000 genealogist attended this event, which offered 130 speakers and
over 250 presentations on a wide range of topics
and new genealogy resources.

They spent a full week immersed in lectures, computer labs and resource research rooms, and met up with other genealogists from around the world in special interest groups (SIGs). Every day was packed with exciting activities – the days commenced at
8 am and stretched long into the night.

Come and find out what they learned, what they liked, which lectures they chose to attend and what they discovered for their own research.

Peter Wyant


Peter will give a brief outline of the Commemoration of the 70th Anniversary  (3rd - 7th September) on the arrival of the Dunera Boys who were incacerated at the Hay (NSW) internment camps 7 and 8.  He will talk about the experiences of his father, Gunther Weiss, who was arrested in England and transported to Hay in 1940.

A number of visitors will be attending events in Hay and Sydney.
